[Although written on January 13, by accident I left this post in draft form and did not publish it until January 20.]
Today, I had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Yong Zha0 address the faculty during faculty professional development day. Unfortunately, I left my notes on my desk at work so I am unable to provide detailed notes here. (I also had difficulty because my mechanical pencil decided to stop working. What a way to begin the semester.)
Although I cannot record some specifics from Dr. Zhao’s talk, he ended with a vision of classes that is very consistent with what I am trying to do with this semester’s classes when I ask students what they want to learn.
Later in the day HASTAC’s January newsletter, that included a link to my “The Best Professional Development that $150 Can Buy” was published.
